Why are they so important?
Sperm whales are very important because of their feces or poop. The feces boosts the growth of bacteria called phytoplankton. These marine plants suck carbon from the atmosphere. Scientists think that without the Sperm Whale we would have 400,000 tons more of carbon in the atmosphere each year. (independent.co.uk) (10)
