They are important because when the West Indian Manatee eats its a form of fertilizer and they keep vegetation under control. Also, if there are no manatees that means there is no tourists and no tourists mean no money (4).

We can limit boating areas, so, they wont get cut by the bottom of the boat, the propellers or get caught in fishing net.
